The Most Special Hand-Me-Downs

My Aunt Sue (Elliot's Auntie Granny) did an amazing thing.  She took my Uncle Dick's (Elliot's Uncle Gramps') old jeans and my Bopa's (Elliot's great-grandpa's) old corduroy pants and turned them into the CUTEST overalls for Elliot.  They are, by far, the most special hand-me-downs Elliot has ever received.

I grew up with my Uncle Dick always around.  He is wonderful.  Quiet, thorough, loving, complete.  I can't wait for Elliot to meet him some day soon.  And, in the meantime, I feel like we now have a little Uncle Gramps with us whenever Elliot wears these oh-so-special overalls.

My Bopa, who is Elliot's great-grandpa, died a few years ago.  And when he did, my Aunt Sue took his old corduroy pants and has been working little bits of them into all of the great-grandkids' quilts.  And now, these.  The most adorable, comfortable, soft overalls you can ever imagine.  They are perfect.  Now Elliot has a bit of Bopa with him, too.
Thank you, Auntie Granny.  They are just right.  Everything about them... the softness, the monkey buttons, the perfect fit over his cloth-diaper bum... the closeness they bring to Dick and Bopa.  Everything is just right.  I love these overalls more than you can imagine.  Thank you so much.
